From SportAdmin and Svenskalag to One Shared Family Calendar

If your family has kids playing football, handball or floorball, you already know the feeling: training moved to a new time, but the message only reached the club app. SportAdmin and Svenskalag are the two systems most Swedish sports clubs use for registration, payment and attendance — but neither one was built to give a family an overview across every child, every club, every activity. This guide walks through exactly how to pull the calendar link out of each system so that training sessions, matches and tournaments show up automatically in your family's shared calendar, with one colour per child.

When training and matches live in three different apps

SportAdmin and Svenskalag are solid systems for the club side of things — they handle registration, payment and attendance tracking cleanly. But they're built around the club's needs, not the family's. If a parent wants to know whether tomorrow's training is happening as usual, they have to open the right app for the right child and dig through to the right activity.

Through the season, training times shift constantly: a school holiday week pushes everything an hour later, a match gets added to a weekend with almost no notice, a tournament appears three weeks out. These changes happen inside the club system, and if nobody happens to check that particular week, they're only discovered when a child is standing there in the wrong kit at the wrong time.

Once a family has more than one child in sport, the problem multiplies. Three kids often means three clubs, three apps and three logins — and the family's own calendar, whether that's Google, an iPhone, or the whiteboard in the kitchen, knows nothing about any of them.

  • Training times change through the season without any notice outside the club app
  • Matches and tournaments get added on short notice, often for weekends
  • Each child has their own app or page — no combined view for parents
  • Whoever 'remembers everything' becomes the bottleneck for the whole family's logistics
  • Manually copying dates into the calendar breaks the moment someone forgets to update it after a change

The usual approach: check the app, copy it by hand, hope for the best

Many families check the club app on Sunday evening and copy that week's training times into the family calendar or onto a note on the fridge. It works fine — right up until something changes mid-week, and the note is suddenly wrong.

Others rely on push notifications from the club. The trouble is those notifications land on one parent's phone, not on the whole family's calendar, and get buried under everything else pinging that phone during a busy day.

Some people add a single match or training session to the calendar by hand while they happen to be in the club app anyway. That fixes exactly that one event, but next week's change needs the exact same manual work all over again — it's a one-off patch, not a system.

  • Weekly manual copying from club app to family calendar — time-consuming and error-prone
  • Relying on push notifications to one phone that the rest of the family never sees
  • Adding single events by hand — breaks down the moment the schedule changes afterwards
  • Asking in the team chat 'is training on as usual tomorrow?' — reactive, not preventive
  • Keeping the whole schedule in the head of whichever parent is most involved in sport — fragile if that person is ill or away

Subscribe to the link — don't copy the content

Both SportAdmin and Svenskalag can give each team its own calendar link (webcal/iCal) that your family's calendar app can subscribe to. Add it once, and training sessions and matches keep updating automatically from then on — nobody has to copy anything by hand.

In SportAdmin, open the club's page or the MedlemsAppen (the club's membership app), go to Aktiviteter (the team's activity overview), tap the calendar icon and copy the webcal link. In Svenskalag, open the team's page on svenskalag.se, go to Kalender, choose Prenumerera (Swedish for "subscribe") — iCal, and copy the link from there.

The important part is doing this per team, not once for the whole family: each child has their own link, so a family with three kids in sport ends up with three separate subscriptions — ideally each in its own colour in the calendar, so it's visually obvious whose training it is at a glance.

The subscription is read-only. That means signing up for a match and reporting absence still happen inside the club system exactly as before — the calendar subscription is for viewing only. And watch out for the refresh-frequency trap: the calendar app pulls updates from the link on its own schedule, often with a delay of several hours — sometimes close to a full day. If a training session moves on the same day, it's still worth double-checking in the club app.

  • SportAdmin: club page or MedlemsAppen → Aktiviteter → calendar icon → copy the webcal link
  • Svenskalag: team page on svenskalag.se → Kalender → Prenumerera (iCal) → copy the link
  • One subscription per team/child, each with its own colour in the family calendar
  • The subscription is read-only — sign-ups and absences still happen in the club system
  • Refresh frequency is set by the calendar app, not the club — double-check same-day changes
  • Three kids in sport means three subscriptions, not three apps to remember to open every day

What it actually looks like, week after week

Sunday evening, when the family sits down to plan the week, training sessions and matches are already there — in the right colour for each child. Nobody has to open SportAdmin or Svenskalag to rebuild the overview from scratch; it's already part of the family calendar.

If a coach moves a training session mid-week, the change flows through automatically in the background — with whatever delay the refresh frequency adds. For most changes, known a few days ahead, that's a non-issue in practice.

When the club adds a whole tournament weekend, it appears as an all-day event in the family calendar the moment it's registered in the system — no calendar work required from the parents.

And because every adult in the family sees exactly the same calendar, pickup and drop-off becomes a shared task instead of something only one person keeps track of. That alone stops a lot of the daily 'is there training today?' messages before they're even sent.

  • Sunday evening: the whole week's training and matches are already in the calendar, in the right colour per child
  • Mid-week changes flow through automatically, with whatever delay the refresh frequency adds
  • Tournament weekends appear as all-day events as soon as the club enters them
  • Pickup and drop-off become a shared task — every adult sees the same calendar
  • Fewer 'is there training tomorrow?' messages in the family group chat

Zenframe brings the subscriptions to where the rest of the family already lives

Zenframe already has a calendar that pulls together school, after-school care, chores and the shopping list for the whole family. Adding the SportAdmin and Svenskalag subscriptions here, one per child, is a natural extension of something the family checks every day anyway.

Colour-coding per family member is already built in, so training sessions and matches drop straight into the same system as the rest of the week's plan — not as a separate layer stacked on top.

On the wall display, the week's activities show up together, so even the kids themselves can check whether there's training today without borrowing a parent's phone or logging into the club app.

Routines and reminders — pack the bag, who's on pickup today — can be built around the synced times, so the calendar subscription doesn't just display information, it actually takes work off the planning.

  • Add the SportAdmin and Svenskalag links as separate calendar subscriptions, one per child
  • Automatic colour per family member — training, matches and tournaments stay clearly separated
  • The wall display shows the week's activities for the whole family — kids can check for themselves
  • Routines and reminders (pack the bag, who's on pickup) can be built around the synced times
  • Works alongside preschool/after-school care and the shopping list in the same overview — one place, not five
