Rebus puzzles and riddles for kids

Rebus puzzles and riddles are small brain-teasers that fit everywhere: at the birthday party, in the back seat on the holiday drive, and around the dinner table. Here you'll find picture rebuses, word rebuses, and logic riddles as ready A4 sheets — age-graded, with an answer key for the adults.

The rebuses also work as treasure-hunt clues: print, cut up, and hide the slips around the house or garden, and you have a ready rebus trail in under ten minutes. Pick a level by age, from picture rebuses for the youngest to logic riddles for the oldest.

The rebus types

  • Picture rebuses for kids who don't read fluently yet
  • Word rebuses and letter riddles from around age 6
  • Logic riddles and brain-teasers from age 9
  • Rebus trails that combine with a treasure hunt

How to use the rebuses

  1. Pick a level. Picture rebus for the youngest, word rebus from school age, logic riddles for the oldest.
  2. Print the sheet. Each sheet has the answer key at the bottom — fold it away or cut it off.
  3. Solve together or build a trail. Solve at the table, or cut up and hide the slips as treasure-hunt clues.
