Car bingo for kids

Car bingo turns a long drive into a game by giving children things to spot from the window — a petrol station, a tractor, a bridge, a cow. It keeps young eyes busy and the back seat calm. This free printable A4 board downloads instantly, with no sign-up needed.

Car bingo for kids

About this sheet

Car bingo is a simple looking game: each board holds a grid of pictures showing things you might pass on a journey, and a child ticks off or marks each one as they spot it. The first to complete a row, or the whole board, wins. Because the squares are illustrated, even pre-readers can join in, which makes it one of the easiest ways to settle children on a long trip without screens.

It works best on motorway and country drives where there is plenty to see, but it is just as good for the school run or a slow crawl in traffic. Give each child their own board so they are watching for different things and not arguing over the same cow. Having a clear goal keeps them looking out of the window rather than asking how much longer is left.

The sheet comes in three age variants — ages 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 — so the pictures match what younger and older children can realistically find. You can print the same theme for the whole family or mix levels so everyone has a fair challenge.

Print the A4 PDF at home before you leave, pack a pencil or pen for each child, and you are ready. It is free, prints on a normal home printer, and you can run off a fresh copy for every journey.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play car bingo?
Give each child a board and a pencil. They watch out of the window and mark off each picture as they spot it in real life. The first to finish a line, or the full board, wins.
What age is car bingo for?
It comes in three variants: ages 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. The youngest version uses simple, common sights so pre-readers can play from the pictures alone.
Is car bingo free to print?
Yes. The A4 PDF is completely free, downloads instantly with no sign-up, and prints on a standard home printer.
How many boards do I need?
Print one board per child so each plays their own game. For a longer journey, run off a couple of spares so you can start a fresh round.
What do the kids need to play?
Just the printed board and something to mark with — a pencil, pen or crayon. No app, screen or internet is needed once it is printed.
