Train activities for kids
This activity pack bundles train activities for kids into one free PDF. Four A4 pages give you window-spotting bingo, a journey quiz and puzzles — enough to keep children occupied from one station to the next without a screen. Print at home before you leave and slip the sheets into the travel bag.
About this sheet
The activity pack is a four-page A4 booklet with three activities in one: a bingo board, a quiz and a puzzle sheet. On a train it is practical to have everything in the same PDF so you do not need to carry multiple activity books. Take out what suits the moment — bingo while the scenery rolls by, a quiz when the children want to sit quietly, puzzles during a longer stop.
It is built for train journeys, when children need to stay seated for a stretch and benefit from something to do without a screen. Bingo and the quiz work well at the seat, while the puzzle sheet is a good last resort when everything else has been used. The pack needs neither wifi nor power.
The pack comes in three age variants — ages 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 — so the bingo, quiz and puzzles are matched to the right level. Several themes are available so you can pick one that suits the children.
Download the A4 PDF free with no sign-up needed. Print at home before you travel and pack a few coloured pencils. If you want a standalone treasure hunt to use at the destination, that is available as a separate sheet.
What you get
- Four A4 pages: train bingo (motifs to spot from the window), a route quiz, and puzzles for between stops
- Train bingo motifs: tunnel, farmhouse, sheep, river, mountain, snow, level crossing, locomotive
- Quiz about towns and landscapes you pass through
- Short puzzles matched to the time between two stops
- Print at home before departure — no wifi needed on the train
How to use it
- Choose route and age. The bingo board and quiz adapt to the landscape and towns on your route. Pick the age level for the children travelling.
- Print before you board. Three A4 pages per child. Store in a plastic sleeve with pencils — train tables are good writing surfaces but drinks spill.
- Use one sheet per leg of the journey. Bingo for the first stretch, puzzles between stops, quiz on the final leg. Many children drift off to sleep in the last half hour — that works too.
