About this sheet

Plane bingo is a picture bingo made to be played on travel day. Each square shows something the children can spot at the airport or from the plane window, and they mark it off as they see it. Because the motifs are illustrated, even the youngest who can't read yet can join in the fun.

The game is made for the wait at the gate and for the flight itself. It gives the children something concrete to look for instead of a screen, both while you wait to board and once the plane is in the air. It works just as well on a first flight as on a routine trip to family abroad.

The sheet comes in three age variants: ages 4–6 with simple motifs like a cloud and a wing, ages 7–9, and ages 10–12 with more — and slightly harder — things to find, like the seatbelt light and a luggage trolley. Each board has at least 25 motifs, so there's plenty to look for throughout an entire journey.

You download the sheet for free and without signing in, and it prints in A4 at home before you head to the airport. Print one board per child. The rule is simple: first to five in a row, or fill the whole board for the youngest.

What you get

  • A4 5×5 bingo boards with plane and airport motifs: wing, cloud, runway, luggage trolley and seatbelt light.
  • Boards for both the wait at the airport and the flight itself.
  • Pictures for the youngest and words for the oldest — two levels ready on the same sheet.
  • Three unique boards per download, so siblings don't end up with identical sheets.
  • A name field at the top that keeps rounds tidy with no arguing over who saw what.

How to use it

  1. Choose age and motifs. Set the age for each player and choose whether the board should focus on the airport, the flight itself or a mix. Each child gets a board matched to their level.
  2. Print before you leave. Print at home on a normal printer the night before. Pack the sheets in the bag along with a pencil and something firm to lean on, so they're ready right at check-in.
  3. Play while you wait and fly. The children mark off motifs they see in the terminal and from the window. Agree whether one row, one mark or a full board counts, and let the winner pick a snack from the trolley.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play plane bingo?
Each child gets their own board with things you see at the airport and from the plane. The children mark off the motifs they spot, and the first to get five in a row wins.
What can the children do on the flight?
Plane bingo gives the children something to look out for both in the terminal and from the plane window, so they stay busy without a screen through the wait and the flight itself.
What age is plane bingo for?
The sheet comes in three variants from ages 4 to 12. Because the motifs are illustrated, children who can't read yet can join in from around age 4.
Can I print plane bingo for free?
Yes. The sheet downloads as a free PDF with no sign-up and prints in A4 at home before you head to the airport.
Does plane bingo work at the airport already?
Yes, many of the motifs are found in the terminal — like a trolley, a screen and planes outside the window — so the children can start marking off while you wait at the gate.
What do the children need to play plane bingo?
Just a printed board and a pencil to mark with. Something firm to lean on, like a book or a tray, makes it easier to write in the plane seat.
